Running these on a 2016 Fz09 as a spirited commuter. I don’t remember the factory tires much at this point, I think they were a battleax variant, but I remember switching to Dunlop Q3+ and loving it. Dry grip improved a good bit, but most notably the profile really changed initial turn in. I found it even more flickable and light footed. I ran a few sets and most recently had wound up on Q5s’. I grew quite used to and fond of them, but I felt like I was spending a little more than I needed to considering how I was using them. I decided to save (albeit only a little) and try these continentals. So far dry grip is good, though maybe a little less than the dunlops, and wet confidence is comparable. Wear seems good so far at about 500mi. What immediately stood out though is the profile difference. Where the Q’s took some getting used to feeling like the bike was falling into corners, these contis feel sluggish and slow to transition. It’s not exactly bad, and maybe would feel more comfortable to a lot of riders, I’m finding it hard to adjust to. They’re seem to be great tires for the money so far, but given the chance, I’d swap to the old Q3+ in a heartbeat. If you’re expecting some light track use or are serious about canyon/mountain carving, maybe seek other options, but these will manage just fine. I’m still loving that fresh set of tire feeling either way!
