Very good product

I bought a D404 front tire at the same time as I bought this K555 rear tire for my VSTAR 1300. The purchases were made in February 2015. The D404 had a manufacturing code of 5112, meaning it was manufactured in the 51st week of 2012. So the tire was almost 2 years and 3 months old when I received it. This is rather ‘old’ for a new tire. If it had been any older I would have considered returning it. I have had two different Yamaha bikes, both with D404’s as the front tire, and this tire gets about 16,000 miles before needing replacement. I put about 8,000 miles per year on the bike, so this tire will be worn out when it is 4 years and 3 months old. I have found my motorcycle tires usually dry-rot after 4 to 5 years if they are not worn out before that, so I expect this tire to wear at about the end of it’s useful life. So I have to give the D404 purchase a 3 STAR rating. On the other hand, the K555 had a manufacturing of 1114 ( manufactured in the 11th week of 2014) so it was a year old. Much better. So I gave the K555 purchase a 5 STAR rating. I usually only get about 8,000 miles max on rear tires, so even though it will wear out much sooner, it is still better in my opinion to be newer.
