After I put this tire on my CR 230 F I was actually able to get up trails that previously I had not. I haven`t had the tire long enough to gauge how it will wear but I don`t care…….this thing grabs the ground like nothing I have had before. I have had it on for a full riding season which for me is about three months , and with the exception of a few chunks of rubber lost while negotiating a particularly long, steep , rocky grade, there is little wear showing. I ride mountainous terrain with soft dirt, hard dirt , mud , rocks, and creek crossings. Have not ridden this tire in sand.

If you are sick of having to put a new back tire on your bike every 6 weeks or so, buy a Maxxis IT Maxcross! This tire is so durable. It lasts for 6 months! That is wild! For reference, I ride northeast single track. So, we’re talking rocks and roots and hard pack, with mild sand/mud patches. If this type of terrain is what you are used to or you just want the MOST durable LONGEST lasting rear tire. But the Maxxis IT Maxcross or the Maxxisx IT Desertcross.

Above average wear for dual sport type riding, some black top, some woods. Ride 450 CC.Traction excellent in hard pack, sand, rock, turf. Tends to load up in mud because of tighter tread pattern, but tighter pattern is what gives you the above average wear. High quality product, great above average wear, tough side walls, never have gotten flat, third set purchased, pleased with product, will keep coming back.

Lasts a looo g tire. Doesn’t chunk. Regular IT over desert version. Makes forks work better with softer sidewalls.
