Replaces a 2004 DRZ400 petcock, but MUST use the stock spacer to lower the new petcock handle to below the stock tank weld seam. So far the new petcock stops gas from draining through when motorcycle is parked, and the motorcycle is running a lot better now. The failing stock petcock was allowing gasoline into the carburetor through the auto shut-off diaphragm vacuum-side, the bike ran really rich. Make sure you drain and replace your engine oil, because if this happens to your bike, you will have too thin oil in your crankcase, also you may hydro-lock when gasoline fills the cylinder, so remove your spark plug and crank engine without spark plug to clear cylinder. ( My GS-1000 had same issues until I rebuilt the GS petcock. )Manual petcock is the best way to go if you have a good memory, another benefit of a manual petcock is for winterization, shut off the gasoline run the carburetor dry, and drain the float bowl. You can’t run it dry with a vacuum operated petcock….

I’ve not tested these long term but we’ll see. For anyone who bought these, like me, to use the rubber parts to rebuild their original petcock since it’s cheaper than a petcock rebuild kit, no, it’s not the same as the original DRZ400 petcock but as they are they work as intended so far.
