RaceFace Women’s Khyber Elbow Guard

After fracturing my elbow in a BMX race, I figured it was time to get some pads. I’d had good luck with RaceFace pedals (I used to run Chesters), and I liked the idea these were designed for women but was skeptical what kind of difference that would actually make. It turns out the big difference is the upper arm hole is slightly smaller than it would be on a men’s pair of elbow pads for the same size (makes sense, as women don’t typically have rippling biceps). Ideally, these should be worn with short sleeves to allow for the inner-elbow area to breathe as designed and for a tighter fit. I usually wear them over a long-sleeve jersey, which is slick, so occasionally they will fall on me if I don’t have them on right. In theory, you could wear them under a jersey, but they’re pretty bulky so I’m not sure how well that would work. Two days ago, I got to give them their first crash test in a paved corner and they look like nothing happened (very unlike the screen of my Garmin fitness tracker, which is pretty much unreadable from road rash).
