Does what it says. It just works. Quick start guide gets one star, I had to search for and download the user manual to connect it to my motorcycle though.When riding with a 2nd person that has one of these, the 2nd person needs a good noise dampening helmet in order for anything they say to be heard past the noise canceling static their unit puts on the voice link.

I am an active user of helmet communicators by Cardo and Lexin, and I am glad to be able to now use Sena! Overall, I think this is a great one-on-one communicator that is easy to install and use for very easy communication with another rider. Highly recommended.Pairs easily with other brands, but the user will need to understand that to pair to any other brand, the universal pairing procedure must be used and one of the units will likley need to pair the other as a “2nd mobile phone”. Once paired with another brand, initiation and termination of communication between the units is super fast, reliable, and easy. For maximum enjoyment, I highly recommend that both riders have the same brand of communicator installed, as that enables the most feature-rich experience available through any brand’s helmet communicator.The 5R Lite is for one-on-one communication with a passenger or another rider. Up to 3 other riders can be paired and available to talk with, after initially pairing up. The entire group cannot communicate together at once through this communicator, only one-on-one. So, if this fits your expected riding scenario – and for many, it does 99% of the time, this is an outstanding helmet communicator. Once oriented with the unit, manual, and phone app, operation of this communicator is fairly intuitive for simple operations. On & off is super simple and fast (press both volume buttons at once), the single button on top of the unit is used to access all other functions. The LED screen display is on during initial settings and then goes dark when in standby. There are no flashing LEDs on the unit. Installation of the microphone and speakers was very easy in my HJC i10 full-face helmet.No problems or reservations. Audio quality is very good and plenty loud, easily controlled with gloves on and great battery life. Recommended!

I purchased this kit to install into a helmet that did not have a receiver in it. I already have a Sena receiver on my other helmet which is why I went with this product. After installing it and learning how to get it to connect to my other helmet I am pleased with it. The only thing that I do not like is the adhesive is staring to loosen and the receiver falls off the helmet sometimes. I will use some stronger glue and make sure it doesn’t come off again.
