For “Surlim EP Hip Protector CE Armor Motorcycle Hip Armor Crotch Pads Inserts [Pair]”I race off road powered unicycles, and I crash a lot, both on the road and on gnarly dirt trails or jumps, frequently going over 30 mph… I wear a LOT of the very best high-end protective gear. I wanted a little more protection for my hips and bought a few different similar (and more expensive) pads as well as several pairs of $120+ padded shorts. The expensive padded shorts are fantastic! But sometimes I don’t want to wear all my heavy gear. Sometimes I want to wear casual looking street clothes and still have a little extra protection.I can slip these pads in my underwear (against my skin) and have just a little more protection without looking like a stormtrooper. To keep them in place I used a soldering iron to melt a small hole in the elastic band of my underwear, one hole over each hip. I then used a simple twist tie through the pad and the new hole to hold the pads in place. It’s kinda silly, but it works! They are comfortable enough I forget they are there, even for all day use.I’ve had a couple spills like this and the pads stayed in place, provided protection, and most importantly they didn’t make me look fat or mess up my panty line. Anyone could use these pads in this way under their normal street clothes for a little extra protection. I sometimes wear silly outfits or costumes while riding my EUC unicycle, and these pads have helped me remain protected when my more robust pads wouldnt be a good fit.These are not the biggest or most heavy duty pads, but this is exactly why they are perfect for me in this application. They are now a part of my regular “casual riding gear,” and I wear them at least once a week.

They’re no D30 or even the nice comfy CE2 pads. But if you have sleeves or pants that run tight and still want the elbow/knee protection these will do the trick very well. I think they make better knee protection than elbow since they’re pretty large but really work for both. I like them and going to keep using them. 4 stars for not being as complete protection as the CE2 squishy but turn hard pads that are on the market right now. On another positive, they breathe very well and good in the hot weather.
