This is an easy swap for the original shield. It’s not cheap but does a good job of blocking out the sun and clearing up when evening approaches. Just like a quality pair of sunglasses take care not to scratch it and follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning. It’s a great option for helmets without a built in sun shield.

Great upgrade to the MX9 Adventure. Minor issue arises when using the sun visor as well – when the face shield is flipped up, there are two strips that are exposed to the sun instead of being under the sun visor. These strips get dark when the rest of the shield is in the shade, making it a little disorienting when the visor is flipped down for 20-30 seconds while the tint adjusts. No buyers remorse here, but this could be prohibitively expensive to some. I got a good deal on the helmet, which made this visor 50% more expensive than the helmet.

I bought this transition shield to replace the stock clear shield on my MX-9 helmet. It was straightforward to install and reacts quickly to sunlight, providing a nice dark tint. The only issue I’ve had is the shield will darken in the pattern of the visor on my helmet when it is raised up. This is hardly a problem as the rest of the shield rapidly darkens to match when it is lowered and exposed fully to sunlight. Quality product and good bang for your buck if you don’t like constantly swapping out shields depending on the time of day.

The windshield is great and versatile and works pretty well for my rides the sun protection is not really strong but enough the keep eyes comfortable and light enough to not impact night rides great product despite of the price is a good value

I bought this after reading many reviews here at Amazon. Truly, the value here is terrific. Very high quality, I’ve been out on about 10 rides so far (multi-hour, multi-terrain and altitudes). Doesn’t fog, great light sensitivity. Even in direct sunlight it wasn’t bad – not as strong as say pure dark sunglasses – but just fine. I would have expected to pay several hundred $$ for something of this quality. It does seem to scratch easily, even taking it out of the packaging I accidentally brushed it across my shorts that had a metal zipper – instant small scratch but fortunately not in main line of site and very small. But this is plastic, so can’t blame the manufacturer. I don’t expect this to last years as I’m sure it will be scratched over time, but in between rides I have a soft bag for my helmet so I think with moderate care it will last a while.

There is no doubt this is a quality product and an absolutely necessary purchase. I rode with the MX-9 helmet for months with the basic clear glass, and now that i have the protint shield I see just how awesome it is. It really works well. Not to dark, not to bright, its just right in all conditions. This really should be a $100 product, but even at $150 its really amazing. The tint has a slight green hue to it. Your eyes will adjust and it will become unnoticeable after a couple minutes of riding though.

Great upgrade for your MX-9 Adventure helmet. Tints nicely and gets pretty dark at night and stays light when the sun isn’t out.
