The “K” name version of this is like 90 bucks. For this price I wasnt expecting much. The chrome seems decent and the part is made of metal. If you are a decent fabricator/mechanic you shouldn’t have a problem.The bolts you have to remove from the tappet blocks can be tricky if you dont have a good set of tools.I had a large air filter housing in the way, so I removed it before starting. The mounting bracket for this needs to be tweaked a bit to make this thing lay straight with no gap. Go slow and adjust in small amounts until you get it where it needs to be. Once fitment is correct, make sure you clean the top of the engine case where the tape sticks VERY well. Use denatured alcohol and make sure its dry. Rub the tape with your thumb briskly before you remove the paper exposing the adhesive. Heat will activate it a little better. Then, stick it on and bolt then press firmly for a minute or so to get it to adhere. Bottom line well worth the dollars vs. the 90 dollar name brand. People having an issue getting it to fit or worried about scratching other chrome may have been doing something wrong, this thing just lays right in the gap and doesnt touch any other chrome.

First thing I’d do before you even start is take the screw off the mounting bracket and head to the hardware store. Pickup a 1 inch replacement (metric). Getting the back screws off of the push rod tubes is fun, be careful not to round out the holes. Mount the bracket. Peel off the white double sided tape and replace it with 3M half inch wide stuff. Double it up if it’s not thick enough. Line up the screw hole and blue lock tite the screw. Get it started then set the cover in place. Only snug the screw up to the cover. Don’t tighten it down or you’ll have gaps on the opposite edge (front). The lock tite will hold the screw in place. Other than these little details, it looks good on my 2014 ultra limited.

Product is as described. It doesn’t fit on easily. I almost returned it because I couldn’t get it to fit without forcing it. I was very concerned about scratching my chrome. So I thought about it for a minute and did this, I took masking tape and covered all chrome that could possibly be scratched with three “3” layers of masking tape, be sure to cover the push rods too, so as to not scratch them either! Then I used a rubber mallet to tap the front and used a thin narrow hammer ( which I put several layers of masking tape on!) and tapped in the back of the tappet cover. Take your time and be patient tapping the back part in. My tappet cover did not set on the motor on the front part. I noticed that I could see the double sided 3M tape under the front, and the tape was not sticking to the engine so, I took it back off and removed the tape because it wasn’t being used and It looked tacky. Now it’s on the motor and looks Great! Time for some “Wind Therapy!”
